The first big tour I did was in September 2009. I rove from Munich to the Cote d'Azur (Menton) and back.

On the first day, I visited the water falls of the Rhein and drove on to Spiez. There i had dinner at the lake and ate the worst pizza ever...
Am zweiten Tag ging es über Martigny (schönes Museum mit tollen alten Autos) und den St. Bernhard Pass nach Val d'Isere (Frankreich). Dort war es fast wie ausgestorben, da noch weit vor der Skisaison.

The second day, I drove to Martigny (beautiful museum with great old cars) and over the St. Bernhard pass to Val d'Isere (France).
Der dritte Tag war ein Highlight: Gleich zu Beginn der Col de l'Iseran, danach Col de Galibier, Col D'Izoard und am Ende der Col de la Bonette. Diese knapp 300km gehören zu den besten, die ich bisher gefahren bin. Leider war das Wetter nicht optimal, vor allem am Bonette, aber es war trotzdem genial.

The third day was a real highlight: I started with the Col de l'Iseran, after that the Col de Galibier, Col D'Izoard and at the end of the day, the Col de la Bonette. These 300km are probably the best I ever drove.
Am vierten Tag bin ich nochmal auf den Bonette gefahren, da das Wetter sich gebessert hatte und man von dort oben einen tollen Ausblick hat. Dann ging es von 2802 m auf 0 m an die Cote d'Azur nach Menton. Der Col de Turini und der Wechsel von der hochalpinen hin zu der mediterranen Landschaft war begeisternd.

On the fourth day, I once again climbed the Col de la Bonette, because the weather was better than the day before. After I enjoyed the great view, I drove from 2802 m (above sea) to 0 m to the Cote d'Azur (Menton). On the way, the Col de Turini and the change in scenery from high alps to mediterranean were fascinating.
Der fünfte Tag war das zweite Highlight der Tour. Ich bin in Menton sehr früh los und gleich nach Monte Carlo gefahren, um die engen Gassen zu sehen, in denen einmal im Jahr die Formel 1 durchrasen. Leider konnte ich nicht die ganze Strecke abfahren, da der Tunnel gesperrt war.
Danach gleich weiter nach Nizza und von dort über Grasse aus Richtung Verdonschlucht. Die Verdonschlucht und der anschließende See gehörten zu den landschaftlichen Leckerbissen der Tour. Nach einer Umrundung fuhr ich trotzdem weiter nach Gap.

The fifth day was the second highlight of the tour. I started early in Menton to go to Monte Carlo to see the narrow streets where - once a year - the formula 1 cars speed through.
Then I pushed on to Nizza and Grasse to the Grand Canyon de Verdon. The canyon and the lake at the end of the canyon was the most amazing scenery of the trip.
Der sechste und siebte Tag waren nicht mehr so ereignisreich und bestanden hauptsächlich aus Autobahn. Doch ein schöner Pass war doch dabei: Der Klausenpass in der Schweiz mit seiner Kurve aus Kopfsteinpflaster.

Day six and seven were mostly boring due to driving on the highway. There was one good pass, though: The Klausenpass in Switzerland with its cobblestone bends.
